STX2 Simplex Modem

The Globalstar Simplex Modem or Simplex Transmitter Unit (STU) is designed to deliver reliable digital data communications for remote sensing and monitoring applications. The STU is a low cost, simplex device that allows packet-switched data to be sent automatically (on a time or event driven basis) from remote locations where alternative communications systems are unavailable or prohibitively expensive. The unit can monitor a wide range of assets including liquid petroleum gas (LPG) tanks, water tanks, pipelines, electricity meters and sea or land containers.

The STU is provided on an OEM basis and can be easily incorporated into a remote data solution.
Advantages
  • Increase reliability through multiple transmissions
  • Location service with optional GPS functionality
  • Quick and easy installation into your OEM devices via standard AT commands
  • Programmable time of transmission or event
  • Low power consumption
  • Low cost
A typical OEM solution consists of:
  • Simplex transmitter unit (STU)
  • Application specific sensor(s)
  • Standard interface controller board
  • Batteries or AC Power
  • Real time clock
  • Optional GPS functionality
  • Patch antenna
